Diabetes is become so common that people accept it as a Ageing process or a Genetic trap, in both the cases People dont ask the right questions and end up paying the price.
Usually once someone gets detected with Diabetes he/she is immediately put on the standard medical care of drugs involving either raising Insulin or making your body more insulin sensitive or by slowing down the process of glucose release in the blood stream or a medicine that excretes glucose through urine, and if nothing works then finally on Insulin Injections. Diabetic patients are usually told that they will be dependant on Diabetic Medications for the rest of the life. The usual advice is Eat less and exercise more. The standard diet given by any nutritionist to a diabetic consists of the same food but in less quantity or more frequent meals through the day in smaller quantities, with a exception of few food types that may include sugar, sweets etc.
A Diabetic person is never made aware that the problem exists in the food that he/she is eating and more specifically that Carbohydrates the main culprit and for some reason he/she cannot metabolise or tolerate Carbohydrates anymore.
If the patients are made aware of the underlying root cause and are given a choice between Reversing Diabetes or continuing with Diabetic care for life which includes Medicines and the complications which come along with the progressive nature of Diabetes.

It is important that a Diabetic is made aware of all the complications of continuing with a lifestyle and more importantly the food choices which make the Diabetes worse and pushes the person towards a more serious chain of problems which may include, Heart Disease, Kidney Failure (Nephropathy), Stroke, Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver, Hypertension, Gout, Diabetic Neuropathy, Retinopathy(Cataract or Loss of Vision), Alzheimers and many more. After explaining the result of continuing the present lifestyle and its complications, let the patient decide which path to take, i am sure none would want to walk the path of a Diabetic Lifestyle when Diabetes is reversible through simple dietary changes. Diabetes is a Dietary disorder and the solution lies in the food that we eat. India and many other developing countries have become a manufacturing hub for Diabetics due to the introduction of the Standard American Diet, which includes fast food, processed food, breakfast cereals, fruit juice induced with high fructose corn syrup, aerated drinks and sugary products which are introduced to children at a much younger age making them addicts and future consumers of these carbohydrate (sugar) rich products with no nutrition value.

Research has shown over 72 Million people were detected with Diabetes in India few years back. The number is only increasing year on year. Soon 1 in every 10 individuals will be a Diabetic in India and the the Healthcare system which is already over burdened with the present medical crisis due to covid19, wont be able to handle the load of Diabetes and the related diseases. It is important that we focus on Prevention and Solution to avoid a tough situation in the future. The Prevention lies in educating the population of which the youth is a major percentage and creating awareness through workshops and different social media. The solution lies in the food that we eat, it is important to educate the effect of food on health and reversing diabetes. The education part has to be about Food and Nutrition, it has to be about the effect of Carbohydrates, education has to be about the History of the food industry which includes the Vegetable oils, Grains, Sugar and the wrong American Food Pyramid which is at the root of todays Health Crisis.

Thats why when you experience any health condition or get detected with Diabetes. It is important to ask the right Questions to your Healthcare provider, that may be your Doctor, Physician or a Nutritionist. The right questions are, why am i sick? what led me to this sickness? is my illness reversible? if yes, what should i do to reverse it? if not, why? what are the complications if i decide to live on medications? is there a alternative way to reverse my disease? are there people out there who are helping similar cases reverse? do these people have enough feedback or testimonials to prove if my illness can be reversed?
The key is to ask questions till you find your answer!! where the present populations fails today is that we don't ask enough questions and we sometimes don't ask the right questions or to right people!! So where do you find yourself??
